Roger Federer is back on the ATP tour after a five-week break, and he is confident he has what it takes to win this week's Madrid Masters. The 2006 Madrid champion has not played in a tournament since winning the U.S. Open -- only stepping on a competitive court to help Switzerland return to the Davis Cup's World Group.

Top-seeded David Nalbandian capped a near perfect week with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win over local favorite Robin Soderling in the Stockholm Open final on Sunday. The seventh-ranked Argentine lost just one set in five matches on the Royal Tennis Hall's hard courts. "It was great," Nalbandian said. "The conditions are perfect to play indoors.

The 2009 Australian Open will offer $15.6 million in prize money, with the men's and women's singles winners receiving an 18 percent increase. Tournament officials said Wednesday the singles winners will receive about $1.15 million each based on current exchange rates.
