The strangest coaching decision during Super Bowl week wasn't when Bill Belichick ordered his defence to act like matadors and wave Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw by for a touchdown from six yards out with less than a minute left in the game. That's just the one people will remember. The really odd one came four days earlier when the uber-prepared Patriots coach, anticipating a halftime show that would dictate a 30-minute intermission rather than the usual 12, ordered his players to take a break from practising football and practice sitting in the locker-room for a half-hour instead.

Although it's not always visible, there's apparently a plan in place for the Chiefs according to team chairman Clark Hunt.

"When I became chairman of the club five or six years ago, what I mentioned at the time was I wanted us to be a team that drafted well and developed the players that we drafted," Hunt said.

And, that was it, the sum total of Hunt's vision for his team or at least all that he was willing to share with the media and ticket buying public.

Whether there is a real vision or plan is hard to believe given the way the last year or so has gone around the franchise. Details on the Chiefs road map are never discussed. Hunt wants to draft well and develop the talent the team selects into contributing players.

The Dallas Cowboys had two former members available for the Hall of Fame in 2012 in Bill Parcells and Charles Haley. Neither made it, although it is pretty much assured they will both enter the Hall one day. 2013 is the year they should make it in although it will be a crowed Hall...

The Cowboys have already started an overhaul of the coaching staff in their attempt to place blame for the woeful 2011 season and make changes for next year.

Longtime secondary coach Dave Campo is gone, as is veteran offensive line coach Hudson Houck, who retired Jan. 10 after 29 years in the league.

The two will be replaced by Jerome Henderson and Bill Callahan, respectively.

Henderson is coming to Dallas from Cleveland, where he worked under defensive coordinator Rob Ryan in 2009 and 2010. The Cowboys wanted to hire him last year when they hired Ryan but couldn't get him away from his contract.

Callahan is coming from the Jets and is likely here because the Cowboys couldn't get former Dolphins coach Tony Sparano to take the gig without also being offensive...
