At some point during the 2012 regular season, the San Francisco Giants are going to drop Melky Cabrera as a starting outfielder. The chances of this happening are a lot higher than you might think. It obviously would not last for more than a handful of games though.

The 2012 San Francisco Giants interleague schedule includes 15 games against the American League West, beginning with a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics from May 18-20 in San Francisco. The Giants and Athletics will meet up again for another three-game series from...

Oakland A's owner Lew Wolff said Wednesday that his hopes to move the team down the coast to San Jose may be coming closer to conclusion -- although that doesn't necessarily mean it will happen. Wolff said the wait for Major League Baseball and league owners to consider the...
Why didn't the Giants re-sign Carlos Beltran?
The question continues to be asked. The outfielder said he liked his brief time in San Francisco late last season, and he certainly was the cheapest among the top free agent hitters.
"We had sincere interest in Carlos," Sabean said. "Whether it was him or anybody else, we didn't want to be cut short. We weren't going to wait out that market. We ran that risk."
In other words, the Giants anticipated Beltran waiting a while before choosing a team, and that's exactly what happened. He got two years and $26 million from the Cardinals. Sabean said the Giants preferred two years but not at that price. In the meantime, Sabean wanted to keep the pitching intact and re-signed left-handed relievers Jeremy Affeldt and Javier...

For the second straight season, Matt Cain will be the only baseball figure to play in this weekend's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The San Francisco Giants pitcher has a helluva drive, uncorking a 330-yard blast on the course's famous ? Continue reading ?

NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers avoided a salary arbitration hearing next week, agreeing to a $19 million, two-year contract.
6 Feb 2012 at 7:57am
At this point, I doubt there is anyone out there that is completely satisfied with the state of the San Francisco Giants and the lineup right now. So few moves were made this offseason that the team actually looks weaker than last season.
6 Feb 2012 at 5:40am
Throughout the 2011 regular season, Brandon Belt of the San Francisco Giants failed to live up to some high expectations. He did not perform nearly as well as he did in the minors for whatever reason. That did not stop him from posting a barely passable .718 OPS through 63 games.

I might be highly critical of Brian Wilson on a regular basis, but he is an outstanding closer nonetheless. The guy might have the occasional meltdown or a few less-than-perfect saves. Despite all that, "The Beard" gets the job done and does exactly what a closer is...

The Softbank Hawks of Japan's Pacific League have signed former major league pitcher Brad Penny to a one-year contract. Softbank announced the signing of free agent Penny on its website Sunday The 33-year-old right-hander is expected to arrive in Japan on Wednesday. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
4 Feb 2012 at 6:43pm
With the San Francisco Giants giving their fans a celebratory welcome to the season on February 4 with their annual FanFest, the media got their own special day to have access to the players. On February 3, the Giants held their own media day, not as glamorous as the Super...

The Los Angeles Dodgers asked a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge on Friday to disallow claims against the team filed by Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan nearly beaten to death outside Dodger Stadium last spring.

Tim Lincecum showed up at AT&T Park on Friday with a hooded sweatshirt pulled over his cap and signature shaggy hair, hiding his appearance. Typical Timmy. For the first time since signing a new contract that will keep him in San Francisco through the 2013 season, the Giants ace revealed his reasoning behind a shorter deal.
3 Feb 2012 at 8:19am
Nothing is guaranteed in baseball, but you can be pretty sure that players for the San Francisco Giants are going to hit some seasonal milestones in 2012. Some individuals are more likely than others to hit certain marks, and not all of them will be positive accomplishments.
3 Feb 2012 at 12:38am
With all of the excitement and news surrounding the San Francisco Giants signing Tim Lincecum, some may have forgotten that Matt Cain is eligible for free agency after the 2012 season. With that being the case, signing Cain was another one of the Giants off-season priorities,...

SF Giants Season Ticket Rights (Charter Seat License) (Club Level 224, Row K) $5499
I am selling the rights to my San Francisco Giants Season Tickets for $5499 (FIRM). Seats are located in the prestigious Club Level area of the ballpark, in Section 224. Seats are covered by awning, protecting you from the rain and sun. You have a direct view of the 3rd base line on the GIANTS side. Seats are great as you have in-seat service, allowing you to watch every minute of the game. Seats are close to two sets of bathrooms and 15 feet from the bar and food concessions.
Upon purchasing these rights, you will be able to purchase season tickets at face value ($11,600) for the duration of the stadium's existence. Last year I sold half the games and made a profit of $3000. You also get the rights to playoff tickets at face value each year and season ticket holders have the ability to purchase extra tickets to opening day and other highly sought games.
I originally purchased these rights for $8000, but I am moving from the area and want them to go to another SF Giant fan.
This is a great investment! Call me if you have any questions. transaction will be completed through the Giants ticket office.
