by Rob 9 Mar 2010 at 7:47pm The 2011 Mustang V6 is not only the most powerful V6 Mustang in history, it’s also the most fuel efficient. Going a step further, it actually sets a freaking record for efficiency. Rated at 31 MPG on the highway by the EPA, the 2011 Mustang V6 is the only 300+ HP car that gets over 30 MPG. The only one, ever. Most powerful ever, most efficient ever….. what in the world is not to like here, folks? Sure, you don’t get that awesome burble that the V8 is famous for. Besides the sound, The V6 is looking better and better all the time. Ford is doing some amazing things while no one is looking. Perhaps it’s time we all start paying closer attention. Hi there - could you help spread the word about Houston Cars? This is a new site, and I could really use your help in getting my work out to new readers. If you would send someone a link, email, or even mention it to your friends, I would appreciate it. 2011 Ford Mustang V6 gets 31 MPG Highway is a post from: Houston Cars by Rob 9 Mar 2010 at 6:57pm Koenigsegg Agera. Few can pronounce it. Even fewer can spell it. Fewer still could handle this car without wrecking very quickly. The Agera is the latest and greatest creation from Koenigsegg, (creator of the CCX-R,)and what a creation it is. Before talking about the looks, some numbers. Koenigsegg Agera Specs
In other words, this car is absolutely no joke. The Agera is one of the most powerful street-legal cars in history, which makes it befitting of a company like Koenigsegg. As far as looks, it’s absolutely wild. Wild to the extreme. Scoops, cut-outs, vents, LED’s, whatever. You name it, this car has it. The front end is just slightly busy for my tastes, but the profile and rear view are dead sexy. No one will mistake your Agera for a “regular” car, in any case. Koenigsegg will build just 16 to 20 Ageras every year – with delivery starting later this year. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the traditional logic applies in this case. That is, if you have to ask, you can’t afford it. Don’t feel bad, I won’t be ordering one either, though not because I don’t want to. Check out the gallery of this beast after the jump. Dude, did you just read what I wrote? Your seat could catch on fire. Granted, this is just one unit. And it’s not as if Mazda has sold a ton of 2010 CX-9 ’s. But still… this *almost* makes the whole Toyota think seem a little, I don’t know… “meh.” Almost. Hi there - could you help spread the word about Houston Cars? Recall Alert: 2010 Mazda CX-9 is a post from: Houston Cars by Rob 3 Mar 2010 at 9:13pm Before going into the details, let me start off by saying this: Nissan’s issues don’t cause your car to accelerate uncontrollably all on it’s own. I’m not naming any names, but I’m looking at you, Toyota. So, why is Nissan issuing such a huge recall? It’s actually two separate issues. Recall number one affects 2008-2010 Titan, Armada, Quest, and Infiniti QX56. There’s a potentially fault brake-pedal pin. If this part fails, it could cause the brakes to fail. No accidents or injuries have been reported so far. Recall number two is absurdly minor, and will only affect daredevils who try to wring every last drop out of their fuel tanks. The issue is that, at high speeds, the fuel gauge will show more fuel than the vehicle actually has left. The affected models include:
Letters should be going out shortly. If you’re affected by the first recall, I would call your local Nissan dealer to schedule an inspection quickly. You don’t want to be the first incident related to this recall – brakes aren’t worth messing with. Folks affected by the fuel tank recall should just, well, fill up more often. At least until the fix. Hi there - could you help spread the word about Houston Cars? This is a new site, and I could really use your help in getting my work out to new readers. It looks awesome. What else did you expect? The 2011 Cayenne is definitely an evolutionary design – in other words, typical Porsche. It’s unquestionably a Cayenne, which means it’s dead sexy for an SUV. I know that Porsche purists still get their panties in a bunch when they think of / see a Cayenne, but the rest of us have gotten over it. In the world of SUV’s, the Cayenne is as bad-ass as you get. 2011 Porsche Cayenne Specs
Much of the same in the engines – except for the introduction of the 2011 Cayenne Hybrid. Interestingly, Porsche used a supercharged V6 as the base engine. The end product manages to put out nearly 400 horsepower, so I suppose I won’t complain too loudly. No word on fuel economy estimates at this point. 2011 Porsche Cayenne Gallery

The 2011 CT 200h is a compact, 4 door (some say 5 door) hatchback hybrid. Under the hood is Toyota’s 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine, attached to the Hybrid Synergy Drive that Toyota is so famous for. Front wheel drive and a Continuously Variable Transmission round out the drivetrain. As for electric-only power, 2011 CT 200h can travel up to a mile without using the engine, if you are careful with the loud pedal. Estimated fuel economy isn’t available yet, but it should be pretty solid given the small size of the vehicle. For now, Toyota has no plans to sell the Lexus CT 200h in the United States. I cannot fathom why – Toyota has a long track record of selling tons of hybrids here…. but such is life sometimes. They could always change their minds. Check out the spy shots after the jump. 2011 Lexus CT 200h Gallery Hi there - could you help spread the word about Houston Cars? Seven speed S Tronic transmission. Quattro AWD. Two doors. Put all that together, and you end up with the awesome 2011 Audi RS5. At least if you’re in Europe, that is – no idea if or when this puppy is coming to the States. For our lucky European brothers, the 2011 RS5 can be had for the low, low price of just 77,700 Euros. That’s the base price, of course. We all know how quickly German cars can skyrocket in price when you start adding options. That said, it’s priced about reasonably for the level of performance you get. And don’t forget the sexiness – that’s included at no additional charge. The norm for vehicle redesigns is more power, more size, more weight. More, more, more. Volkswagen is bucking the trend, as the 2011 Touareg manages to weigh 460 lbs less than the outgoing model – impressive. Not only that, but VW is offering a hybrid version with a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. Expected fuel economy on the hybrid version is 28.6 MPG combined (based on the European test cycle.) Even on the traditionally powered models, VW is expecting a 20% economy increase, thanks to the lower weight and better aerodynamics. As for looks, the 2011 Touareg is a solid looking vehicle. It won’t win any beauty contests, but it isn’t likely to offend anyone, either. I’d say it’s one of the better looking SUV’s around. That’s especially true on the interior, which looks fantastic. Perhaps a few too many buttons, but all those features have to be controlled somehow. Check out the gallery after the jump.

Speaking of MINI, that’s who Audi is going after with the A1. Decidedly “mini” in size, the A1 is just 155.5 inches long. To be fair, that’s a full 10″ longer than the Mini Cooper, but the same length as the Mini Clubman. Under the hood will be your choice of the following engines:
Curb weight is a scant 2300 lbs – which should be good for handling and fuel economy. All in all, it’s a smart little car. Good looks, sounds like performance will be solid, plenty of luxury options, and a base price of 16,000 Euros. Hey Audi, we (United States) like cars like this too. Just sayin. 2011 Audi A1 Gallery

Toyota is recalling about 8k 2010 Tacoma 4×4 trucks due to defective driveshafts. The rear joint is weak, and could crack, causing the driveshaft to, well, fall off the truck. No big deal, eh? Fortunately no accidents have been reported, and most affected trucks are still on dealer’s lots. Tacoma owners should probably have their trucks checked out at their local Toyota dealer. A quick visual inspection will let the dealer know if there is a problem or not. Hi there - could you help spread the word about Houston Cars?
