For sale is a brand new set of truck tires. The tires are Bridgestone Dueler AT 693II size 245/75/17. Most commonly used on a Nissan Or Toyota pickup but works well on F-150 , Dodge 1500 , Silverado , Sierra. This set retails for over $900 installed at a major tire retailer. The stock assist spring that comes with the cars listed above results in extremely poor clutch feel. The feel is vague and linear throughout the stroke of the pedal masking the actual start of the friction zone/engagement point. The effort used during the pedal stroke is very linear. By replacing this spring with the one in this listing, clutch pedal feel is greatly improved. The pedal now has a progressive feel, with low effort needed at the bottom (near the floor) of the pedal stroke, and increasing effort as the pedal is raised. You can now actually feel when the pressure plate fingers start to engage the clutch plate.

Below is a comparison of the stock spring (on the left) vs the replacement.



As you can see, the stock spring is quite beefy (rated somewhere around 300+lb/in). The replacement spring on the right is rated at 52lb/in.

Replacing the spring is easy and only requires needle nose pliers.

Using the needle nose pliers, remove the C clip that's circled in red above. DO NOT REMOVE the top clip, it's not necessary for this mod and is difficult to reinstall.

At this point, the assembly is under load and the pin will not come out.

You will need to depress the pedal to the floor in order to unload it and slide the pin to the left, out of the clevis. You don't need to remove the pin entirely from the assembly, it just needs to clear the bracket. A helper may be useful.

Remove the lower clevis/pin and stock spring, replace with weaker spring and reassemble.

The entire procedure shouldn't take more than a minute to do.

This was the first modification I made to my G37 6MT within a week of purchase and haven't looked back. No doubt there is excessive clutch wear with the stock arrangement because of difficulty in detecting the friction zone.
