I have 2 good used transmissions for '89 through'92 VW 2.0 litre 16v GTI or Jetta GLI with trans code "2Y" (this version has the larger input shaft and 3rd gear splines and is "beefed up" in several places to handle the extra power that came with the 2.0 litre 16 valve engines). These transmissions are externally identical to all VW 5 speed gearboxes from '75 to '98 and could be used as a replacement unit in any 5 speed VW Golf, GTi, Jetta, Cabriolet, or Scirocco It also has a close ratio gearset with a 3.67 final drive ratio, and i have various good used 5th gear sets that could be substituted for less noise and better fuel economy at highway speeds. One of these units is a seviceable or a good used specimen that could be installed as is, the other had been disassembled for overhaul as it had some minor wear type issue. I have all bearings, synchro's, gaskets and seals to complete it along with the knowledge and all special tools needed (30 years vw experience). also have a "poor mans limited slip" that could be installed. Cost for this unit, assembled with warranty would be $450, $300 for the other one.
