Summary: This is a good older restoration matching numbers big block convertible. Replace the front suspension and it will make a good driver as is. Everything else is just minor tinkering for the most part. There aren't many good cruiser big block drop tops that you will find for the price IMO. The minor stuff is the easy fun stuff too not the back breaking hair pulling out stuff. The car drives smooth and is really a joy to cruise in. Don't let the minor stuff sway you from a nice solid Olds.
Please read the entire post - this is a really fun solid car - needs some attention but is an easy full restoration. You can contact me at 610 203 7296.
I bought this car late 2009 (Sep) from a guy in NYC who wanted to sell this car to buy a racing car.
The car had a lot of work done on it since 1993 the details are as below:
• Transmission Cooler: 09/09
• New convertible top: 12/09
• Complete Spindle Assembly: 10/10
• Front Wheel Cylinders (inc. bearings): 10/10
• Front & Rear Brakes: 10/10
• Starter - 11/08
• Battery - 11/08
• Plugs - 11/08
• Valve cover gaskets - 4/09
• Front passenger inner and outer wheel bearings: 6/09
• This is just a brief list .... for the complete list email or call me......
Car used to be white but was repainted silver. Paint job was good but has some minor chipping on the clear coat on the top of the front fender. you can't see it unless you are close to it. It shines up very nicely. The car is unwashed in the pics and still shines. The black stripe is a decal. The headlight setup is actually Delta 88 - Delmont had the headlights beside each other and turn signal inbound. The Delta as seen has the turn signal between the two headlghts.
Wheels are actually from a similar year Buick and are in good shape. Could use a little steel wool in a spot or two but again shine up nice without it. Interior is in great shape. Vinyl is smooth and pliable seats are supportive and have no sagging. The top of the rear bench has two minor splits which I got fixed. The dash as a split on the drivers side. The A pillar hides it a little from the outside though most people dont notice it. Steering wheel is missing the emblem.
Trunk is solid as could be. Frame is solid as could be. Floors are solid with two minor exceptions. A small one inch section on the drivers side rear floor is coming apart and on the very front of the floor there is some rust. Not rotted through completely just a little frayed. Both are very minor and could be patch paneled very easily. Let me reiterate that the floors are very good shape the little spots are just an annoyance at this point not anything to be concerned with structurally. There are a couple little bubbles on the trunk lid and two small ones above the passenger rear wheel arch. Not big and NOT rot. The rest of the body is very very solid.
I have the original Protecto Plate for the car as well. Also have the original manual and convertible top guide.
Needs a passenger rear window regulator. Needs a speedometer cable. Current mileage is ~140 300. I got the car with ~140 000 and I have driven it about 300 miles. I have records of mileage up to the speedo cable breaking.
Heat gets nice and warm. Has a newer exhaust with mild Flowmasters - exhaust sounds great.
I have an extra grill I sourced an original lower air filter canister full sized matching Buick spare and Chilton manual included.
I just got married and my wife has decided to go to grad school and school is expensive. As you can see that there has been a lot done since I have bought this car. I would like an enthusiast to buy this car so that it can be restored back to its glory days. I am selling it at exactly the price I bought it for (4500.00). This means that you get an additional value of 3000.00 on top which puts this car at a total value of 7500.00!!!!!
There may be some minor stuff either good or minor nits I forgot to mention so I will edit post them if I think of them.
