I have FOR TRADE ONLY an extremely well taken care of '96 Audi A4. Technically I am the 3rd owner but bought it from a car lot who purchased it from the original owner who (according to carfax) had it dealer serviced it's whole life. I've owned it for a year and it's been fantastic. I've put a lot of work into little things to make it perfect. The car currently needs nothing. Really nothing.
The car is stock. No mods. The '96 model didn't have a sport or economy option but this one has the slightly lower suspension similar to the later sport models and has the nice sport steering wheel. The economy models of the later years sit awkwardly high.
It has a moonroof bose stereo w/ 6 disc QUATTRO AWD the full deal...
Super low mileage for the year @ right around 140k!
It is a 2.8 v6 - No it's not the highly tuneable turbocharged 4cyl engine but that just means that it hasn't been beaten to death.
It has a 5 speed manual that shifts beautifully - clutch is in great shape.
It has 2 sets of wheels. the stock 16" silver 5 spokes that are really nice looking and a set of painted black (in need of a touch up) 18" RS4 replicas with tires. tough looking wheels.
The interior is in fantastic shape with some wear on the driver's seat but not bad at all.
The hood has some small rust spots only by the grille that have been covered with a bra that really doesn't look bad. Paint is in overall great shape for it's age 8 out of 10 I'd say.
As you may know this car has some known small issues that are annoyances but can be expensive to fix! I've taken care of them.
-There was a small leak in the power steering system turned out to be near the reservoir and was fixed.
-The valve cover gasket was leaking. Fixed the one the other is okay for now but the gasket is included.
-The climate control unit was really messed up. Most buttons didn't work and heat always blew on high. Completely fixed PERMANENTLY.
-The moon roof developed a mind of it's own. Contacts on the switch were cleaned and no problems since I fixed it in March.
-Most lights on the instrument panel were out. They were replaced with slightly brighter lights and all work.
-It's had other service @ German Auto Pros in Parma Heights and of course has full synthetic oil.
I guess I forgot the cruise control is not functional.
Aside from that it is a fantastic car. I really enjoyed having it for the past year and it's advantages in the snow are amazing. I'd put it against any Subaru or 4x4 truck with all season tires and it would still come out ahead!
I just want something different. I'm looking for a BMW.
More specifically I want a later e34 525i manual transmission only in really good shape. NO AUTOMATICS please. I would prefer it to be a 92 or later with the m50 engine.
I would also be interested in the e39 97-2003 5 series with the inline 6 engines only. No V8s please.
I would consider an e36 3 series if it's in exceptional shape and not a 4 cyl.
I wouldn't mind an e46 3 series either.
Basically main criteria is BMW Inline 6 engine Manual trans good shape.
Thanks for looking.
