Fantastic car ready for the Autobahn! Only 29,000 miles (not a typo!) and in fantastic shape. Maroon leather interior is in almost perfect shape. A few bumps and scratches on the body, but garaged last 9 winters and no rust. This car needs to be driven-hundreds of thousands of miles in comfort await the lucky buyer-

I have a very well maintained SL here. This car has ALWAYS been kept in the garage and has NEVER seen snow, heck it has only seen a few rain showers! Whenever this car needed anything, it got it! You might be able to fine a lower mileage SL (113k) but keep in mind the expenses you encounter from 60-90k miles on these cars. You WILL replace the engine wiring harness, you WILL replace the steering dampener, you will rebuild/ replace the power steering pump, you WILL replace hydraulic pumps and lines that run the power top, and you will replace the Bilstein shocks. These are just a few of things that have been done on this car that will need to be done on any SL that hasn't been done. You could easily spend 5k on those repairs. Just google those items and you will see that is the case. I have a stack of service records that will back up my statement. The top is like new as it was replaced about 5 years ago with a high end German canvas and since this car hasn't seen the weather it still looks like the day it was put on. The clip on hard top has been stored above the car on a hoist since I have owned this car. I got this car about 7 years ago. I asked a dealer friend of mine to find me the right summer car and this is what he found. He was able to get several of the dealer service stamps for service to verify this car was well maintained even before I got it. This car is my pride and joy but it is time to turn it over to someone else and find a new love. Drive this car and you will realize that this car runs and rides just as well as a 2010 due to the service and car this car has had. This is difficult, but...

I'm putting feelers out for selling my car, a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL. I love this car. Hate to have to sell it, before it really started. I run the car on Bio-diesel (not veggie, from the pump) which can be purchased on E 55th or in Oberlin. Passed E-check with a breeze.

But- I'm not a total piece of shit liar, like the guy I bought it from. It has transmission problems, will need a new one. I've got a solid quote for around $1500 to totally replace it (Everdrive has rebuilt tranny with 3yr warranty for $1000, seals and gaskets around $150-200, installation around $350).

The engine is awesome, can run all day at 3000rpm. Interior is in good shape, has some wear in the leather, but the only rip is on the driver's seat. Floorboards are extremely solid, as is the underside of the car. Trunk has the spare, no holes, all solid. Car began its life in Florida, then spent 15 years in Michigan. They use sand up there for winter roads, not salt. Car has some minor rust spots on the driver's side door. Seem to be easily taken care of.

Engine bay is relatively clean.

Heat controller is having trouble. I have purchased a new one. It would come with the car, obviously.

On the days when the tranny works well, the car is a dream to drive. Again, the car passed E-Check by a mile.

The title is also an issue, it was jumped a few times, and at the moment I don't have one (on temp plate). I'm waiting for an answer from Columbus to see if I can get it in my name (title was just jumped a few times, not stolen. It's all been cleared up by the highway patrol). If you have a connection with the clerk of courts, this won't be an issue for you.

Car has 309,000 miles. Yeah. But, it's got a nifty medal on the grille, from Mercedes, for passing the 250,000km mark. The 500,000km mark is only about 5K away. Maybe they'll do a story on you.

Would love to keep the car, but home improvements and tuition come first.
