1986 Toyota pickup 4X4 project truck

22re Fuel injection 5 speed, 4" frame to body lift kit, cruise control, no air conditioning, decent rubber, most of the stuff is there, make a great off roader.

It started but makde a metal on metal sound. I'm not sure what the sound is though. I took the timing chain cover off abd that looks fair, so I guess it is a spun bearing. For $100 more I will throw in a good 20R engine with a weber already pulled from the truck.

The front seats are not bolted in.

I have a 1999 Mazda Protege LX with a 5 speed manual transmission. It is forest green with tan interior both in excellent shape. This car has been babied and has always performed above expectaions. I am meticulous about tracking the mileage on it and I have seen as low as 31mpg and as high as 39 since I have owned it. It has power doors, and dark tinted power windows. It has a peppy 1.6 litre fuel injected 1.6 litre 4 cylinder. Last spring break my family took this car to Seattle (11 hour drive) and it performed perfectly. I got over 38mpg the whole trip and enjoyed a comfortable quiet ride. I would love to hang on to this car as a run around/ commuting vehicle but I am in desperate need of a truck to haul toys around. The motor has only 137K miles on it and shows now signs of wear or leakage. The Air conditioning (AC) blows ice cold, and the stereo sound awesome. Whoever winds up with this car will be happy with it for years to come.
I am looking for a six passenger, extended cab, 4x4 truck to replace it. I am partial to ford products, but would be interested in entertaining any make such as chevy, gmc, dodge, or even toyota. My preference is for a 1997 or newer f150 but I am not adimate about that.
If you have a trade that MEETS MY CRITERIA than please contact me, and if you don't please get with me and we can negotiate a cash deal. Then I will shop for the truck on my own. One transaction is best as long as both parties are satisfied, and if not there is no harm in two.

Hi...I'm Jenni and I'm your local off road & long travel truck expert :)


We've got "Rigs", "Mudders", "Boggers", "Trail Hippie's", and so on out here, but nobody seems to have caught on to the REAL excitement yet... SPEEEEED. Don't get me wrong, all of our slow-n-safe off road trucks may be a part of our history and loved for a long time, but they're slow...um and that's not always fun. Let's ramp it up a few notches and not be afraid to rail the gas pedal and show the dirt who the boss really is! I'm talking about having a fully independent A-arm front suspension with like 20" of travel and 30" in the rear, that you can fly over the whoops and fly past your buddies in... without worries. There's only so much that you can do with 4wd and it's the most uncomfortable slow, bumpy ride ever. A "good time" is being strapped in to a 5 point harness in your Sparco race seats, going about 60 MPH in 3rd gear across some 2 foot tall whoops, inside a cab which is fully caged in chromoly and not worrying that anything will break. Maybe sipping tea over those whoops too haha. I don't think anyone can admit to NOT wanting "one of those truck" when you and your buddies are watching the BAJA 500 or 1000 race, BITD race, SCORE race, SNORE race, Luaghlin race, or MDR!! Who doesn't want to fly over the terrain and hit a few jumps?!?!

Definition of "Travel":
"Travel" is the measure of distance from the bottom of the suspension stroke (such as when the vehicle is on a jack and the wheel hangs freely) to the top of the suspension stroke (such as when the vehicle's wheel can no longer travel in an upward direction toward the vehicle).

WHAT YOU WANT IS "LONG TRAVEL" (cycles at least 15" in the front). You also want it to be produced from a more elastic material like DOM or a 41xx or higher steel, etc, etc, etc. There is a science to building strong/safe off road kits, blah blah that's for another conversation.

Long story short, I want to bring to you what you've been missing the past 30 years...the ability to go fast...without breaking your truck or bank account afterwards. There is a suspension application for every year, make, and model of truck whether it be new or old. Put it on your 1985 Pickup....or your 2011 F250.



Don't deny it, the capabilities of the trucks below, are pretty sexy.

WHAT TERRAIN CAN I DRIVE WITH A LONG TRAVEL TRUCK? Unlike "muddin'" trucks, long travel trucks are more used for going fast on dirt and not climbing things. Any terrain is fine including whoop sections, jumps, tracks, etc. They aren't created to be towing themselves through mud and stuff though...more like to show off hitting a 15' tall jump.

ARE THEY "TOP HEAVY"? Typically, NO. These trucks are designed to go faster so they have to have a lower center of gravity than 4x4's.
